The Cabins At Terrace Beach

Gorgeous seaside cabins on the most sheltered west-facing beach in town. Self check-in was easy and winter deals are unbeatable! The cabin itself had a well stocked bathroom and kitchen, and it's an easy 20 minute walk into town for groceries. I travelled solo, but it would also be comfortable for two couples to share as the rooms are spacious and the communal middle floor is very comfortable. The beach was very calm and peaceful, with interesting things to look at. I highly recommend you take a cold plunge (checking tides and safety, of course) even in winter. There were also seals in the bay and eagles everywhere! From the cabin, the lighthouse loop is very accessible and makes for an interesting and easy morning walk, or if you're feeling more adventurous you can head north along the coast and do the Pacific Rim and Ancient Cedars trails. If you're a light sleeper, just consider bringing earplugs in case of foggy weather as the lighthouse foghorn seems quite loud at night.

The rooms in the Lodge are lovely, but the view was so much better without the new beachfront cabins taking all of the forest scenery and privacy away. I think they also trimmed out some trees that would have added privacy as well? We found so much fresh litter on the beach, it is really disheartening. Love the inside, wish that room cleaning was at prepandemic levels, feels off to pay more and have to do housekeeping when you are a guest!

Amazing location, fall asleep listening to the channel buoy, wind through the trees, and sea lions barking in the distance. We love it here! So appreciate the staff and their welcoming, considerate manner. Hands down my favourite place to stay. Cabins are well equipped, spotlessly tidy and everything is geared to checking in and chilling out.

Just spent a weekend at the Cabins at Terrace Beach and have already decided this will be an annual deal for us. Rented one of the ocean facing signature cabins and the view and decor is unreal. Kitchen is fantastic, equipped well enough that we managed a full Christmas dinner for one night. Super serene setting, lots to do in Ucluelet, and feels like home when you get back from hikes and breweries.

We stayed in one of the Lodge suites (units 21-28), so this review is specific to them. The other units on this property are quite different, both in location and amenities. The Lodge suites all have an amazing view of Terrace Bay, gas fireplace, king size bed, small balcony, hideabed, soaker tub, bar fridge, but oddly no microwave. The contactless check-in process was a breeze, I’m baffled by other reviews that were critical of this. Just follow the simple instructions in the E-mail. We got an excellent off-season (December) rate, especially for the astronomically expensive Tofino/Ukee area. There is a large common area in the center of the Lodge building, modelled after a ski lodge with a big gas fireplace, wet bar, built in stereo and plenty of comfy couches. We had the place entirely to ourselves. There are only four parking spaces near the front door, so in busy times some will have to walk 50 meters or so from their car to the front door. The beach at Terrace Bay is small but wonderful, and only a 1 minute walk from the Lodge. One and only complaint - the large skylight has no way of blocking out light so bring an eye mask or be prepared to wake up at daybreak. Overall this is a high end, four star accommodation at a very affordable price in off-season.

We had an amazing stay at the signature oceanfront cabins, with other family close by in the lodge. The cabins were steps away from Terrace Beach with beautiful views of the beach through the forest, right out the window of the cabins from all floors, and from higher up from the lodge. We walked the Wild Pacific Trail (also super close) during sunset, got amazing photos and saw Orca Wales near the lighthouse!
